Mark Turner, Executive Partner, Technology Practice

Mark brings nearly 30 years of deep technical experience from hands on Software architect to founding and successfully exiting a cutting edge AI/Modelling company. He is a Charted Engineer; Chartered IT Professional and Fellow of the British Computer Society.

Mark technical foundation as Software Engineer and Architect led him to deliver innovative solutions in Asset Management, IT Infrastructure Systems and the first Video on Demand/Streaming media systems for hotels. For 15 years Mark was Product & Technology Director, with hands on practicality designing and building two generations of AI/Modelling platform and leading project delivery for utilities, transport & energy sectors.

Mark is passionate about technology and ensuring it delivers on its promise. From his background in Asset Data Management and Optimisation he sees the correct application of Dynamic Digital Twins and AI/ML as a massive opportunity for any organisation; He also relishes the many challenges to achieve this success with the adoption of complex software within operational context. 

Mark is an avid aviator, spending much of his free time flying with his family touring  the UK, Europe and USA.

John Phillips, Executive Partner, Commercial Practice

John leads our Commercial Practice. He brings over 40 years of deep technical, business, and industry experience,. Having founded and successfully exited three companies. He is a Charted Engineer; Fellow of the IET and an Alumni of London Business School and Bath University.

John has occupied the roles of CEO; Executive Chairman and non-Exec in Software and Technology companies, has led and delivered major $ mulit-million programs across a range of Industry sectors covering Technology; Utilities; and Automotive.

He has provided ‘Due Diligence’ advisory services to both VC and private Equity clients and is proud to have been Non Exec Chairman of Business Link, an economic regeneration program in South Yorkshire which generated over 2,500 new sustainable jobs.

John’s passion is to share his experience with the next generation of engineers and entrepreneurs and to use his expertise in Artificial Intelligence to inspire world-class innovative teams such that they can address our most urgent, societal and environmental problems. He is committed to democratising AI and ML, diminishing  technical jargon and delivering exceptional client value.

John spends his free time with his family, getting outdoors - cycling, walking and sailing.

Frank Grimshaw,  Partner, Finance & Regulatory Practice

Frank leads Tridyn’s Finance & Regulatory Practice. A Cambridge University graduate, he brings over 40 years of senior level experience. He has provided trusted advice to Executive teams, Boards and Regulators on economic regulation, strategic planning, customer research and cost-benefit analysis. 

Frank has worked predominantly in Water sector, and has a proven successful track record, including defining Severn Trent Water's ODI suite for PR14 and playing a leading role in United Utilities PR19 Plan (achieved fast track status from Ofwat). 

Frank specialises in translating complex and new regulatory mechanisms into practical business strategy. Blending regulation and practical application provides a unique perspective, and he has frequently been sought out to lead keynote projects covering a diverse spectrum from delivering operational efficiency to securing long term water resources.

Frank’s passion is to demystify complex frameworks into simple constructs which allow operational experts to make the right calls, confidently and in knowledge of the potential up and downsides. 

Frank spends his free time with his family, walking, completing the Times cryptic crossword and enjoying fine wine.

Robert Evans, Partner, Outsourcing Practice

Robert (Bob) Evans leads our Outsourcing Practice. He brings over 40 years of policing / law enforcement experience, across the public and private sectors and was awarded the QPM in 2010. 

As a former Deputy Chief Constable for Wales, Bob had responsibility for Counter Terrorism, Organised Crime, Welsh ports and Border policing. Bob is able to draw on his extensive experience of operating across the political spectrums of local and national governments, both UK and internationally.

Having dealt with major organisational structures, working with a fixed resource but variable demand and critical incidents, Bob’s experience in behavioural transformation and organisational process provides our clients with pragmatic advice. 

As governments increasing lean toward outsourcing key public facilities, so does the need to use Dynamic Digital Twins and AI/ML to deliver exceptional taxpayer value. Bob is excited about applying response and problem solving solutions honed from policing to the wider corporate environment. 

Bob has retired from being the anchor man of the police ‘tug of war’ and ‘ tight head prop’ teams and now enjoys more sedate pastimes traveling in France and Eire.
